Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actor and performer whose performance variety earned her acclaim across many genres from period drama to thrillers and action. Johansson is the daughter of a film director and architect. She was raised by New York City. Hunter was twins with her younger sister. When she was a child, she developed a passion for performing and started performing in commercials by the age seven. She enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute shortly following and then went to the Professional Children's School, Manhattan to further her education. Johansson made her debut an actress on film in North (1994) at the age of nine. At eight, she appeared with Ethan Hawke on Off-Broadway in Sophistry. Johansson was later seen as a character in Just Cause (1995), her debut was with Manny & Lo a coming of age movie about two sisters who run away. The Horse Whisperer (1998), in which Johansson plays an teen girl who has facial disfigurement, received praise from critics. In the following years, she gained fame as the cynical teenager Rebecca In Ghost World. When she was a kid, she became interested in performing. Smith's parents helped her with landing her first acting role at age six. Smith was in the Dannon commercial for television. The same as other newbie actors in the same position the actress honed her talents on stage. She would work in different USA productions while making her debut on stage in the company of Wildflower.
